Dayton Combative Arts is a local martial arts club in Dayton, Ohio. It was established in 2009 by it's Senior Instructor, Kevin Lee Wagner.
In 1998, Kevin and his Kenpo instructor / partner Larry Charles, developed the Twin Dragons Kenpo Karate Club. Together, they established a solid group of students that wanted to learn the art of Ed Parker's American Kenpo in it's original methods. This continued into 2008 when other obligations lead to a separation of the founding members.
Along the years, Kevin branched out in his training, and developed his skills as a fighter in the Counterpoint Tactical System, as well as Cacoy Doce Pares Eskrima/Eskrido. With this, his physical development and instructional tastes migrated to the more integrated weapons based systems of fighting, and he began to develop his new club in a similar way.
Today, Dayton Combative Arts has a loyal student base training in multiple ranges of fighting from the long range weapons of stick and knife, the striking ranges of kickboxing and empty hands tactics, and into the close quarter ranges of stand-up grappling, and ground fighting. Through training in CTS, Cacoy Doce Pares, and American Kenpo, we instruct the systems to compliment each other, and allow the development of a well-rounded martial artist in the ways of combat and defense necessary to safely negotiate the dangers present in today's society.
